Radicle Startup Pitch

Radicle is a speculative startup concept developed as part of a UX design elective focused on entrepreneurship. Drawing from the botanical term "radicle," which refers to the first part of a seedling emerging from the seed, and the notion of change, the project explores how to foster a more conscious and sustainable relationship with grocery shopping.

The pitch addresses the growing concern among Millennial and Gen Z consumers regarding their environmental impact, particularly concerning food systems. It proposes an in-store navigation app and learning tool that assist shoppers in making environmentally responsible choices without raising costs or adding complexity. Based on user research, Radicle combines store layouts, straightforward diagrams, and real-time feedback to guide purchasing decisions and promote better food habits.

This project deepened my understanding of how UX design can address systemic challenges such as environmental sustainability. I explored business modeling, consumer research, value propositions, and the development of digital tools. Radicle emphasized how design can support individual action while fostering broader systemic changes from the shopping aisle to the food supply chain.
