Face Mask for Communication
In response to the challenges of mask-wearing during the COVID-19 pandemic, I designed and prototyped a functional face mask that prioritizes clear communication and comfort. This project aimed to address a common pain point: masks that collapse inward while speaking or restrict the natural movement of the lips.
The final design includes:
A structured form that maintains volume around the mouth, facilitating easier speech.
Adjustable straps to keep the mask in place during conversations.
Breathable, washable fabric for extended wear.

This project enhanced my skills in soft goods construction and iterative prototyping, while also reaffirming how design can address human needs during times of crisis.
